Run Down Apartments & BFFs

I was looking for a new apartment for my family to live in and my BFF came along to help me. We had to look at low income apartments and the first one was awful and small. Peeling paint, dirty carpet, warped linoleum, and a leaky water heater from the apartment above was ruining the ceiling. The owner thought it was a great place to live. But he also had a little home he rented as well. So we walked out of the complex and out onto a beautiful old neighborhood. The street was lined with huge trees and the homes were old and well kept. Behind the apartments was a second hand store which made my BFF and I giggle because I like to shop those stores.

Next, we were in a small, run down sweat shop the owner proudly showed us. The woman who sewed and altered clothes looked as run down as the building. The owner told us all about the business and my BFF was interested and asked to look around. I didn't see her for a long time then we started to leave and she wasn't with us. I knocked on the door and a scary lady answered. "Did you know?" she asked angrily. I mutely shook my head. When we were almost out the door, I ran back and walked bravely inside to look for my BFF. She was no where.
