Joel the Teacher Gets a Crush

Bespeckled, fair-skinned, light red-haired Joel (boy-next-door looks and personality) worked at the Jr. high. His good friend, Tamara, also works there. Tamara has lost her husband years earlier and now devotes her time to teaching.
The two are very comfortable around each, almost like siblings.
Tamara is reading the paper at lunch in the cafeteria when a bunch of teens sit down by her. She scoots over. The teens don't seem to mind her. Joel comes over and leans over her, hands bracing on the table on either side of Tamara's, which are resting on the table. It seems natural.
Another school shows up for an Indoor Soccer Competition and Joel leaves to welcome them.
Spring is trying to come.
teachers have made a bet. The class with the highest test scores gets to ask their teacher whatever question they want; one question (within reason).
The day arrives. The teachers are seated in two rows of chairs, facing each other. The students are sitting at one end. Tamara and three other teachers are standing in the open space between the two rows of teachers.
It's Tamara's turn to answer a question.
"Who do you have a crush on?" one smart mouthed boy asked. Tamara shyly pointed to Joel who was sitting behind her. He isn't looking. Through the whoops and hollers the fat teacher next to him nudges hi, Joel looks up to see Tamara pointing at him. He grins and catches her fingers with his hand and doesn't let go.

Another version after I woke and went back to sleep:
Tamara pointed at Joel who was sitting at the end of the line, away from Tamara. He grins, stands and walks toward her. He unfolds a chair next to an empty one and sits down. Tamara sits next to him and he puts his arm around her. She snuggles into his shoulder and he warps his other arm around her, pulling her in tight. Happiness and peace are felt in the embrace.
