Angry Friend

I was at an awards ceremony where my friend, Kim, was the announcer. Another friend, Steven, sat nearby. At one point, Steven corrected Kim on a name: "Not Widdle, Biddle. I told you for twenty minutes how to pronounce that name!" I was seated at a table in front and stood, looking at Steven. "It doesn't really matter, Steven!" My heart pounded. I glanced at the lady whose name was mispronounced and thought it probably mattered to her.
Then I realized I had probably offended Steven as well.
When the ceremony was over he came to the middle of the tables and threw a bunch of papers and napkins. "There you go. Thanks to everyone who helped tonight. (he named a few people except me who was in charge of the whole evening.) I turned to my husband who sat at my left and said, "He's pissed at me, isn't he?" My husband nodded and said, "Wouldn't you be?" I said, "To a certain degree."
After Steven was done he said, "I've never been criticized in public like that, ever." (ironically, that is what he was doing when I stopped him).
I was almost awake now and decided to change the ending. I crawled across my table and ran to the middle and hugged him.

He's My Best Friend But He's Marries

I was living long ago, medieval times maybe, as a young woman. I was sitting on the floor of a play house, watching magicians. They performed between two rows of attendees. I smiled as I turned and talked to my best friend, John. We laughed at something I said. I looked across the floor at the crowd on the other side and distinctly saw two young men grinning at me and I knew they liked me.
I turned back to John to share this secret with him when I saw a wedding ring on his finger. I knew he was married, but it never seemed to come between us.
Suddenly, John was gone. The show was over and the two previous men were both approaching me. They saw each other and frowned. I chose that moment to leave.
I asked my advisor, who reminded me of Merlin from King Arthur time where John had gone.
"He's married, you know."
I was annoyed with his pronouncement. "I know."
"He can't meet with you anymore. He has started having feelings for you."

20 Year Reunion I wasn't Invited To

I was wandering down the halls of my old Junior High School (that has since been demolished) trying to find a classroom. A friend from church, Angie, who is younger than me came up behind me and patted me on the back.
"Sorry you didn't get invited to the reunion." Then she walked into a class. What?? I didn't get invited to my own reunion?
Then another friend from church, Diane, who is older than me found me in the hall. "Where's the reunion at?" she asked. I shrugged and we walked together, looking in classrooms and talking.
