Another slide

Hubby and I came to the town we were staying at. He pulled me through the door, which was on a very small landing at th top of a slide. He was teasing me and asking if I wanted to go down. He was holding my hand. I was willing to go down if he thought it was okay but I was still nervous. Then he pulled me off to the left and down a set of stairs.

 A few other couples and hubby and I were inside a cave that had a natural slide. We sat on sacks or bums to slide down. There were natural landing spots and many times we had to wait for people to get moving.
One group was really big and were taking a while to get down. We waited and waited then realized they had a bunch o packages they bought and were taking home. They were sliding the packages down the slides then picking them up on the next landing.
Then we realized they were setting up a table. What? I went down to see what they were doing. Well, they decidesdto set up a craft table and make crafts in the cavern. I was surprised and frustrated.
What are you doing? I asked. There are people waiting to slide down and you're in the way.
They shrugged at me and kept going. I walked back up to my group and told them what was going in.

Angry Friend

I was at an awards ceremony where my friend, Kim, was the announcer. Another friend, Steven, sat nearby. At one point, Steven corrected Kim on a name: "Not Widdle, Biddle. I told you for twenty minutes how to pronounce that name!" I was seated at a table in front and stood, looking at Steven. "It doesn't really matter, Steven!" My heart pounded. I glanced at the lady whose name was mispronounced and thought it probably mattered to her.
Then I realized I had probably offended Steven as well.
When the ceremony was over he came to the middle of the tables and threw a bunch of papers and napkins. "There you go. Thanks to everyone who helped tonight. (he named a few people except me who was in charge of the whole evening.) I turned to my husband who sat at my left and said, "He's pissed at me, isn't he?" My husband nodded and said, "Wouldn't you be?" I said, "To a certain degree."
After Steven was done he said, "I've never been criticized in public like that, ever." (ironically, that is what he was doing when I stopped him).
I was almost awake now and decided to change the ending. I crawled across my table and ran to the middle and hugged him.

I was driving along in a jeep on a muddy road in some sort of jungle. A huge, ginormous white crane landed on the road ahead of us. Two gray and red vultures, then three landed near it, picking at the road kill. The crane was easily three times bigger than the vultures. It kept snapping at them, trying to keep them away from his meal.
I grabbed my iPhone and got out of the car. I wanted a picture of this amazing sight. I couldn't get my camera to pop up. I kept pushing the button but got nothing. In the meantime, my grunts of annoyance caught the cranes attention and he saw me as a threat to his meal as well. He started toward me, making all sorts of weird noises.
I hurriedly got back inside the jeep.

I went to a writers conference with Erin. We met Kirk there. He's an editor. We had two kinda dirty rooms to choose from and two bathrooms. Being the kind and considerate people we are, Erin and I choose the smaller of the two.
We were getting ready for a meeting. I couldn't find my shoes. Kirk said he put them in his desk drawer. I opened it and found tons of junk: toy turtle, death certificate, other toys but no shoes. I moved more papers and found my white gym shoes.
I glanced around his room. "Hey! This room is perfect for Erin and I! It has two beds." Not to mention a bigger bath. I thought about sleeping in the double bed with Erin and just knew I wouldn't get much sleep. I'm such a light sleeper.
Kirk said we could swap rooms then I felt bad and told him it was fine.
"No. Let's swap."
I went to my closet to find some clothes to change into and couldn't find my blue shirt. Everytime I touched one of Erin's clothes on hangers she made a noise with her throat.

NYC & Marriages

My friend Lori met me in NYC. We were having a vacation, sort of, and seeing her sister Vicki get married. We found Vicki's apartment and she let us in. It was HUGE and beautiful. Dark brown (the shade I LOVE) wood in the shelves, furniture etc and white walls and cushions etc. Her sister was just waking up and so was her fiance. He was trying to cover up the fact that he was wearing a lacy blue nightgown. He pulled on a sheet to cover up but we still laughed at him.
They had an amazing rooftop. It was also HUGE and tons of their neighbors were at on the roof, playing ball or talking or walking their dog. The fiance was playing ball even though it was hot out. There was shade and garden tables and chairs were set up in the shade. I kept thinking that this is what my friend Cami was pushing for here; huge parks. But I remembered that where we lived we had big backyards.
I couldn't find the wedding and when I did they had just got married. The bride had a weird blue bird feather wrapped around her head instead of a veil. Then her mom and others were getting huffy because they needed to hurry and take pictures.

I was church and in one of the rooms a science experiment was going on in the form of square petri dishes. All sorts of plants and mold. I boredly looked it all over with a flashlight. Austin walked in, saw me, said "happy birthday" then turned to leave. I hollered at him and ran after him.

I Want To Ride My Bicycle

~Nap Dream~
I was riding on the highway on a nice bike. I was cruising along, cars passing me, when I saw three trailers in a row. One had it's door open and I tired to honk my horn and scream. I decided I should get off the highway and follow the trailer where it exited on the off ramp.
I crossed several lanes of highway and was aware of another biker behind me, waiting for me to go to one side or the other. I stuck in the middle lane.
I also saw a trailer almost crash. It looked like it had been blown by the wind and was carried almost on its side before righting itself.
I could see ahead that the trailer with the open door had shut it. I looked down at my little girl pink bike and wondered how I thought I would ever catch up with a trailer. The bike was my daughters. I made a decision that all my children needed new bikes.
I was on an overpass and glanced below at the freeway. It was long. I was suddenly awakened to the fact that I just up and left my family to take a ride and I was far from home. I became overwhelmed with the idea of having to travel all the way back.
I thought maybe I could call someone or get a ride home. I knew I couldn't go back on the freeway because it was illegal. I wondered how I had gotten so far on the side of the road.
I noticed the handle bars were crooked and the bike was rusty. Then the handle bars came out. I put them back and tried to ride on the sidewalk home. A woman and her baby were in the way as was an old 50s style car.

Trading Patches and Greeting Cards

I was sitting at a long table, covered with knick knacks and Boy Scout patches. Sister Lloyd came over and wanted to trade with some pieces of junk. I bowed my head and told her no. She offered a ton more plus greeting cards and earrings. I traded.

A friend of mine was making cards and I really wanted to make some because they were so cute.

Then her little nephew ran down the street. Hubby and I ran after him, shouting his name and telling him to stop. He didn't. a semi came really close to him and clipped him. We grabbed him by the shoulders and yelled at him. "This is why we told you to stop!" His parents came and got him.
